Hand-fasting Ceremony
Saturday 29th August 2026, approx 12 midday
At the stunning Ancient Technology Centre in Cranborne, we will gather amid nature to join in a deeply personal hand-fasting ceremony, conducted by Wildflower Ceremonies, led by celebrant Ellie Brooks. This ceremony is more than simply traditional: it’s a meaningful ritual of four-element inspiration (earth, air, fire, water) and timeless connection. With our hands bound together in coloured cords and ribbons, we symbolise the weaving of our lives, our love and our futures into one shared journey. Wildflower Ceremonies specialises in craft-led, nature-inspired rituals for “free-spirits” and bespoke celebrations.
Designed to honour our story — how we met on 7th July 2023, our commitment made on 18th October 2024 — this moment will reflect our Viking-inspired theme: an homage to ancient traditions, bonds formed under open skies, and the strength of shared adventure.
You can expect:
A warm welcome and gathering outside the Earth-house or woodland setting of the venue
A short reflection by Ellie, weaving our story with nature imagery
The binding of our hands with cords/ribbons as we exchange our vows and intentions
A blessing of the four elements, acknowledging the land we love, the air we breathe, the fire of our passion, and the water of our shared flow
Invitations for you, our guests, to witness, support and send your heartfelt blessings
A joyful conclusion, honouring the moment and leading us into the rest of the day’s celebration
We are honoured that Ellie will guide this hand-fasting with the creativity, sensitivity and bespoke style that Wildflower Ceremonies is known for — deeply rooted in the ceremony of hand-tying for couples of all faiths and none.
We can’t wait for you to be part of this meaningful, joyous start to our married life.

Our Wedding Venue
We’re getting married like true Vikings — with a modern twist.
Our ceremony will take place at the Ancient Technology Centre in Dorset, a one-of-a-kind venue where timber longhouses, open fire pits, and ancient traditions meet wildflowers, good music, and festival vibes. It’s the perfect setting for a celebration rooted in nature, community, and love.
The site is raw, real, and wild — just how we like it. We’re blending Viking spirit with a laid-back boho atmosphere: flowing fabrics, firelight, acoustic tunes, and shared feasts beneath the sky. It’s a celebration of freedom and connection — with a nod to Norse ancestry and a relaxed, soulful energy. Come as you are, raise a horn, and let the good vibes roll.
We’ll be exchanging vows in one of the hand-built timber halls or beside the ancient earthen mound, surrounded by the people we love most. This won’t be your typical wedding — it’ll be an experience to remember.
Skål, and see you there.

On Saturday 29th August 2026, the feasting begins after the ceremony:
Hog roast on a spit
Pizza van (with vegan and vegetarian options)
Street food options (TBC)
For those who prefer a quieter retreat, afternoon tea will be served at No 10 nearby.
Bring your own drinks (BYOB) — we’ll be offering champagne and a small starter stock, but the feast shall grow with every purchase from our handcrafted Viking-inspired wares! Each guest will receive their own drinking horn to honour the old ways and spare the earth from needless glass and plastic. Be sure to bring a belt loop, strap, or holder so your horn may hang proudly at your side and be refilled throughout the revels. Alternatively, you can purchase a horn holder from our website shop — lovingly crafted by The Goddess Isla herself.
